Given a detailed character profile, I can generally come up with a good fit within a week or two. Of course, tweaking of character texture maps, morphs, bones, and kinematic limits can take as much time as the actual assembly of a base model. All models are fully articulable, including facial expression morphs and compatible with motion capture data. I have a large library of existing characters ranging from prehistoric and classical historic periods up through the present day and futuristic themes.
